Free checklist


5 star pool inspections goal is to assist pool owners in obtaining a pool safety certificate on their first inspection. So to assist you in compiying with the pool safety laws I recommand that you go through the CHECKLIST and rectify or have someone rectify any potential non-conforming areas prior to your inspection date.

 

If some of the following statements are NOT true or you are concerned about anything give me a call before I come out to the appointment. If you want to save and print the free checklist, click here.

THE GATE
 

  • The gate is opening AWAY from the pool

  • The gate latch is 1500mm from the ground

  • When the gate is closed, it is secure and does not pull free

  • The gate self closes from ANY and ALL positions

  • The gap between the gate and the ground is 100mm or less

 


THE FENCE

 

  • The gap between the fence and the ground is 100mm or less

  • The gaps between the vertical railing are 100mm or less

  • The top of the fence is at least 1200mm from the ground

  • The gap between horizontal railings is greater than 900mm

  • Fence is secure and in good working order

 

 

OBSTRUCTION

 

  • Area is clear of climbable objects at least 1200mm outside the fence

  • Area is clear of climbable objects at leat 300mm inside the fence

 


OTHER

 

  • A compliant CPR sign is on dispay (If not, I sell them if you need one)

  • If a window opens onto the pool area, it must have a security screen or have verticals less than 100mm

  • If a door opens onto the pool it must be separated from the pool by a fence

 


Note: This does not cover all requirements ot the pool safety laws, however, the items listed are the most common faults that I find.
